Theme: Embracing discipleship as your new way of life
Key Verse: “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” 1 John 2:6
You’ve come a long way. Over the last six lessons, you’ve said “yes” to following Jesus, learned how to stay connected to Him daily, opened your heart to transformation, embraced the role of community, stepped into disciple-making, and accepted your calling to live on mission. That’s no small journey.
But discipleship doesn’t end here. It begins here.
Jesus never meant for discipleship to be a course we complete or a series of boxes we check. He meant it to become a new rhythm of life. When He said, “Follow Me,” He wasn’t inviting you into a one-time decision. He was calling you into a lifelong walk, one where you become more like Him as you go. Think of everything you’ve learned:
- In Lesson 1, you saw that discipleship begins with surrender. It’s not about trying harder, but about trusting deeper. Jesus wants you to follow Him, not perfectly, but faithfully.
- In Lesson 2, you discovered that abiding in Christ is what fuels the disciple’s life. Your greatest need isn’t to do more, it’s to stay close to Him daily.
- In Lesson 3, you learned that transformation happens through obedience. You don’t just learn truth, you live it. And when you do, God reshapes you from the inside out.
- Lesson 4, reminded you that discipleship is not a solo pursuit. You grow best in the context of spiritual friendships, accountability, and community.
- In Lesson 5, you were called to multiply. Disciples make disciples. You have something worth sharing, and you’re called to pass it on.
- And finally, Lesson 6, showed you that your life is part of God’s global mission. You are not just saved, you are sent.
Now, let’s stitch those truths together.
Discipleship is not about arriving. It’s about abiding, obeying, growing, sharing, and going, again and again. It’s a rhythm. Some days you’ll feel strong; other days weak. But Jesus didn’t ask you to be perfect. He asked you to follow.
If you fall behind, get up. If you drift, return. If you feel unworthy, remember this: the same Jesus who called broken fishermen calls you. And He walks beside you, even now.
So don’t treat this series like a finish line. Let it become your foundation.
Let these six rhythms shape how you begin each morning, how you make decisions, how you handle relationships, and how you see the world. Let them echo in how you pray, how you listen, how you serve, and how you lead.
This is what it means to live as a disciple, not perfectly, but purposefully.
Not occasionally, but daily.
Not alone, but with Jesus and with others.
Key Takeaway:
Discipleship isn’t a phase of life — it’s a way of life. When followed daily, these six
rhythms become your lifelong pathway to walk closely with Jesus and impact the world
around you.
