Theme: Reproducing your faith in others
Key Verse: “Go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19
Imagine if Jesus’ original disciples had decided to keep everything, they learned to themselves. What if Peter and John followed Jesus but never shared the gospel with others? The movement would’ve died in one generation. But they didn’t keep it to themselves, they passed it on. That’s why you’re here today. Because someone,
somewhere, said “yes” to the call to make disciples.
Jesus’ final instruction wasn’t a suggestion. It was a commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19) This is not just for pastors or missionaries, it’s for every follower of Christ. Discipleship doesn’t end when you’ve been taught. It continues when you begin teaching others. This is the multiplication model Jesus used: disciple a few deeply, then send them out to do the same.
You don’t need to be an expert to disciple someone. You just need to be one step ahead and deeply available. Remember, Jesus didn’t pick scholars — He picked
fishermen. What mattered most was not their background, but their willingness to follow and share.
Making disciples starts with intentional relationships. Who has God placed in your life that you could invest in spiritually? Maybe it’s someone younger in faith, a curious friend, or a new believer. Begin by praying for them, listening to them, and simply walking with them through life.
Discipleship isn’t about running a class. It’s about sharing your life, your story, and the Word of God. It can happen over coffee, during a walk, or in your home. The key is consistency. Over time, these small investments produce deep roots in someone else’s life.
And here’s the beauty: as you disciple others, you grow too. Teaching someone else will challenge you, stretch your faith, and remind you that God uses ordinary people for eternal purposes. Disciple-making isn’t a burden, it’s a joy. It’s what you were made for.
So, ask yourself: who will be walking with Jesus because you walked with them? Who will know God’s Word because you opened it with them? Discipleship doesn’t stop with you. It multiplies through you.
